The design work, as well as the design and export of simple SVG graphics, was done in Figma. "Humans for Figma" was used for character design. HTML, CSS and JS were used to code this simple responsive website from scratch. CSS animations were used to add dynamic elements as the story scrolls - from flashing satellites and windows, to character movement, to the eyes of an alien looking around.

In this project I got to take on the role of developer. Prior to the coding, I gathered the text and the SVG graphics that had been produced in an overall layout in Figma. As first-time coders, a lot of time was spent finding the missing semicolon and the error on an empty line, and there was no room to test or ensure optimization for browsers other than Google Chrome. But the project nevertheless became an important springboard for further work as it opened up a basic understanding of coding and CSS animations.
